i replaced my plastic hop up in my 416 with a metal one and also changed the rubber for a gaurder one and bucking , and i lost 50fps on test firing

does it need any bedding in period or has anyone ever had this problem

old one is back in it now average 325 fps
new set up had it at 270 average

could need some time, also a bit of silicon but to be honest I'd imagine the huarder give better accuracy and range, FPS is nothing tbh mate, as long as you're in the 270-300 region you're grand, although the metal hop up could have a reduced air seal, try using the guarder in the plastic hop up and see how that goes.

Stupid question but did you put back in the brass spacer that slips in between the barrel and chamber? Cant remember what its called.

Bit odd that you lost fps really, dismantle it again and inspect the chamber and rubber, then reassemble it, you could try the guarder hop-up with the stock nub and see how that fairs. but like the fella above me said put the guarder into the plastic hop up.
