Signed for a registered letter today only to find its a summons to court for an alleged speeding offence! I thought you were meant to get a fine in the post first and be given the opportunity to pay and get the minimum points?

On it it says I was doing 70kph in a 50kph zone but were the photo was taken the speed limit is 60kph would it make any difference if i bring this up in court? along with the fact that i never got any opportunity to pay this earlier?
