I had to help a friend of mine get the photos off of his pc the other day, he had little clue how to do it. Because his camera is on highest settings all the photos are 5-7mb etc. He wants to email them. Can anyone tell me the easiest way for a total novice to resize a bunch of photos (e.g. all in one directory) so they can email?

I'm thinking something that is maybe a few hundred k in size, so not too big to email. Maybe 2 Megapixel or so perhaps, just big enough to fill the screen but be printable without being rubbish quality

    Thanks

I think Picasa can do this and its simple enough to use, even has the option of "Emailing photos" from within via outlook/thunderbird/gmail etc and it will automatically reduce the size afaik

With Powertoys for XP came this mighty cool Image Resizer. Here's a modern day version for Vista/7. It doesn't get any easier.

Torqay has hit the nail on the head. This software is seriously handy. Just select the pictures, select the size and hit go!

Works on XP just as well (if .NET cr@pwork is installed). ;)

There's a website that does it for free. Very simple and quick and suitable for dummies :)
