JC experiment [Chemistry] doe all experiments need a control

Just wandering I haven't enough room for a control would listing 4 variables suffice !:eek: just unable to fit even in additional room will I loose many of the marks

You should always have a control. Without one, you have nothing to judge your experiment against. (even though you may know what you're looking for, you presume it is the very first time you or anyone has EVER done that experiment! :L ) As we learn as a definition for LC

A control is a suitable standard, against which the experiment can be judged fairly and accordingly.

Should this not be in the JC thread if it's relating to JC?

BUMP HI! need help as regard coursework a my teacher informs me and my class THAT WE DON'T need to do the write up in the experiments booklet as the SEC suggests just the hardbacks we have been filling in since first year is this so cos genuinely I need an answer as I feel I need to be told now as I have almost written all the notes i need in other subjects and any time wasted on this I FEEL is UNNECESSARY please help p.s I have coursework b completed and sent off THANK YOU ALL HELP IS APPRECIATED BELIEVE ME:D;):pbump:cool::pac:

OP - iirc the experiment is to measure how much co2 is in fizzy drinks. I would use an uncarbonated liquid such as water and test it as a control.

As far as I know as long as all experiments are there that you ticked on your coursework b, then it doesn't matter where they are. The experiments booklets have them neatly and will make sure you have all of them there. It is your teachers responsibility to check you have all experiments written up, then he signs a form and you got the ten percent. To stop cheating by teachers the books are then kept in the school with the possibility of being checked by the SEC.

tl;dr as long as you have the experiments written up, it doesn't matter.
