    Hello,

I was setting up my Tacx flow last night and it was all straight forward apart from getting the heart rate to work. I tried my Garmin strap and bontrager strap (both with new batteries) and it has the heart sign flashing and then 3 lines _ _ _ but no reading.

I took all my cadence/speed sensor's i use on the road off just inase there was interference but no joy.

Any ideas what to try next?

    Thanks,

I think the flow doesn't work with ANT+ straps. I again think you need the Polar-like straps to work.

Use your Garmin computer to view the HR. That's what I do.

Your spot on with that advice, i got a Polar uncoded heart rate strap last night and that works fine. Thanks.

Where did you pick it up out of interest? I've also got a Tacx flow vr set-up but haven't linked a HRM in yet.

The guys in cyclesuperstore helped me out! The strap you need is the Polar T31 uncoded.

Is there much involved going down the VR route? how do you find it?

You can upgrade the flow to vr for €190 here, and there's some discussion on it here and here. During the bad weather I was using it about 5 nights a week, now it's 2 or 3 with more time spent on the road.

    Hi,

New to the tacx turbo trainers. Does the Flow with VR upgrade change resistance in line with the video terrain or do you have to change this manually?

    Thanks,
