    Hello,

Has anyone got their eyes done at Ultralase, Dundrum? Have a consult there next month so trying to research as much as I can about the clinic.

I'm -6 in both eyes and very nervous about the treatment....

    Thanks!

    hi,
did U have your surgery? I'm thinking about one, so would like to hear your review.

What kind of treatment did U have?

    Cheers

    Hello,

I'm 11 days post treatment! And in the end I decided to book with Ultralase in Dundrum as I found their consultation very good. I felt that I could trust my eyes with them and all the staff were very professional and friendly. I decided (& was advised) to go with Lasek (interestingly another clinic suggested lasik) due to my thin corneas.

The day of the treatment was very stressful as I was extremely nervous! The clinic offered me valium which helped calm me. The actually procedure is pretty painless – just very strange.

About an hour after, my eyes started to get sore and when I say sore – I mean excruciating, agonising pain!! Tried to sleep that day but it was still very uncomfortable and with lasek I had to wear lenses for 3 days so my eyes were very blurry too. The whole experience was quite stressful.
However on a more positive note – once I got my lenses out 3 days after the treatment, I was feeling much better! My eyesight was quite blurry that day but each day they have been slowly getting better day by day.

Day 11 and while I’m still a little blurry – the whole world is looking a lot brighter :) They said it will take at least 3 weeks (up to 3 month) before I’m 100%

In terms of Ultralase – I would recommend for sure, (so far) they have been great. I would recommend to go to a few different clinics and get as much information as possible from professionals and experts in the field.

Hope that helps but happy to answer any specific questions too

    thanks for reply :)

I'll have to have LASEK too, as I'm not suitable for LASIK. What kind of treatment did you have Ultra, Ultra Plus or Ultra Elite? I'll probably choose Ultra or Ultra Plus, but not sure if there is any big difference...

I have checked other clinic in dundrum sc (don't remember name), but wasn't satisfy with consultation and what they wanted was just to book me for treatment:mad: Had my consultation with Ultralase and was very happy, answered all my questions and did't push me to have treatment ASAP. I have -2.50RE and -2.75LE, so they told me is pretty easy and should be back to my form quickly. I am a bit stress about it, but have more then enough of wearing glasses and contact lenses...

Thanks for your answer, wish you all best in your recovery :)

No worries at all – I know how anxious you are feeling!! I was exactly the same.

I went with Ultra Elite, mainly due to my prescription which was quite poor. The only negative with ultralase that I found was that they do underplay how sore and unpleasant the recovery is after Lasek. Until the lenses are taken out – The first three days are very uncomfortable! I know that everyone is different but my sister and her friend also had Lasek with Ultralase and they experienced the same as myself for the first few days.
Be sure to have someone there with your too after the treatment! I would have been lost without help that first day.

I’m now Day 13 and the eyes are still improving. Still not 100% but very close to it. Overall I’m delighted with my decision and hope it goes just as well for you!!

Oh and my surgeon was Eamonn Hynes and found him very professional. My sister’s surgeon was Faisal Iqbal and found him to be equally as good. (they are the two surgeons that operate in Dundrum)

Best of luck with everything!! :)

wow what a feeling without glasses:D:D
i had lasik ultra elite and everything is going fine for me infact my eyes is healing very fast.i've reach driving standard after 1 day.eyes were very painful:confused: after sugery, got home took a painkiller, use the eyes drops as they said and went to sleep for 4hrs.
after that i was feeling much better and the next day i went for my appointment on my own.
i would recommand ultralase in dundrum,go for your free consultation to know if you are a good candidate for laser.
feel free to ask me for any questions guys.
