    hey guys,
ive been putting a lot of thought into building my own kayak. has anyone here done it?

i was thinking to design it on solidworks, cut it into 4" slices and wire cut those shapes out of styrofoam. then after i glue those together and sand down i have a full styrofoam kayak which then gets a few layers of fiberglass.

im thinking something similar to a prowler 13 or a tarpon 120.

    any input?

I know of a guy in Cobh who built two wooden sea kayaks. Not sure who locally has tried to built a fibre glass one lately but in the good old day I know they used moulds which can in two parts, hull and deck. I think it was easier to do the fittings etc.

Be interested to hear how it goes.
