Really confused about tax...

Ok so since October I've had 3 jobs including my current one. Had the second one in Jan/Feb and the new one since then. I got the p45 from my second job and gave it to my current employer so that's grand, however I'm still waiting for my p45 from the previous job. I've gone to my employer there twice (it's out of my way now, can't get there very often) and he's promised to send it out to me both times, I even got him to write down my address the second time to be sure. Still nothing.

Is there any way I can get the tax back without going to him again? I've been looking on revenue.ie and I'm even more confused than when I began :(

*edit* Didn't realize there was a subforum, could one of the mods move it please?

    ok

Because you have had 3 jobs in 6 months and they cross over the start of a year you are in a pit of a pickle.

firstly the p45 you got from your second job and gave to your current job thats it. you cannot get another p45 from any previous employer even if you never got one from them previously so stop looking.

ring your local revenue office or visit them if they are near enough to you. there is an option of the website that tell you where yours is. they are very helpful and you can explain you circumstances.

The only tax back that you are entitled to is from your first job. Any other tax back ie from you second job should be dealt with through the taxation process within your current job as it has been since the start of the year or the tax office will automaticall y issue you with a cheque should the amount be excessive. you can follow all this up with your contact with the tax office.

bring along copies of any payslips you have from all your employments as this will help them get a soloution for you.
