I see that Minister Hogan did not get a good welcome to Carlow this evening.

Yes, details please. Preferably a link or article, not a story from a friend friend of a friend of a friend of a friend. I heard similar stories about Fine Gael members being harassed outside the ArdFheis, but they ended up being stories that had no origin.

    http://www.rte.ie/news/2012/0411/protesters-confront-hogan-over-household-charge.html
Minister for the Environment Phil Hogan was confronted with a Household Charge protest this evening when he was opening a museum in Co Carlow.

Gardaí say a crowd of around 60 protesters was present, but others say the crowd was in excess of 100.

The neck on that lad,,brings in household charge here yet refuses to pay the yearly fees on his luxury apartment abroad.Theres plenty of people who have contributed a lot more to county museum than him,its a pity one of them wasnt asked to open it.

Yes, like Quasimodo, Big Phil got the hump and fled into the cathedral shouting "Sanctuary sanctuary!"

At time of writing, there are no reports of him ringing the bells, only one of his knickers wringing.

The biggest problem I have with Phil Hogan and his attitude is that he resembles nothing so much as a Fianna Fáiler in Fine Gael clothing.

The majority of the country voted for change, not just party but genuine change. Sadly, whether you paid the Household charge or not, Hogan's attitude suggests that nothing has changed.

I heard that Hogan was in the Cathedral letting them know there'll be a household charge on the crib at Christmas.
