Hello, i've been asked by a friend who's not a member of boards to ask if people know of large or local camera shop's in the Rep of Ireland that have closed in the last year or two. Also do you feel it was down to the economic downturn or due to the bigger stores stocking the mid to high end DSLR's,

He's doing some sort of report / project thing,
    Thanks

And he's so lazy in his approach to this report/project that he can't be bothered to set up an account and ask himself?

    +1

No harm setting up a quick survey on surveymonkey.com and gauging opinion that way.

    It was implied constructivism.

Ha ha, i was made redundant 3weeks ago when they closed the photoshop i managed, i was based in kerry, people are just not buying cameras from smaller shops, plus as for printing how can you do better than the online printers .

Yes its such a shame that so many Camera shops have closed down. Its so much better to buy a camera shop coz the people who work there can give you much better advice then what you'd get in the likes of Argos ect.

I suppose camera shops lost out a bit when the digital cameras arrived coz people didn't need to buy film for their cameras anymore & people are able to print their own photos now, i wonder did that add to their loss of business?

Its a real shame to see them closing down.... :(
