Hi all a little help would be much appreciated

Mods please move if you think that there is a more appropirate forum, Thanks.

I have recently purchased a new PC HP Pavilion p6-2071uk. Link to the specifications below..

    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/Document.jsp?objectID=c03030793&lang=en&cc=us&contentType=SupportFAQ&prodSeriesId=5151865&prodTypeId=12454

Incorporated into this PC is a TV tuner, which I would like to use.
I have followed the instructions as per the manual a connected a coax cable to the PC, and the other end to my UPC incoming signal. (Not through the set top box)

Opened windows media center and followed the instructions to set up, TV Setup, selected Ireland as the region, the dublin agreed with the MS licence agreement.

Then media center downloads the latest TV setup data for my region, which it says is Digital Antenna (DVB-T) Unmapped Digital Terrestrial (1 Tuner)
I accept this and media center then scans for TV channels, but when it is complete it says no channels are found.

I have retried all of the above with the coax going through the set top box still the same problem,
I have also checked the coax cable and the incoming signal and they are fine.

Can anybody advise a solution to this.

    Many Thanks

Isn't UPC cable? From the link:
    • Supported transmission standards:
      • Digital DVB-T (requires UHF/VHF-compatible antenna and high-definition television)
You'll have to connect it to a terrestrial antenna. You'd have to look up the card model to see if it supports Saorview as well.

    Basically what EarthlyPangea has said.

The tuner in your computer is for terrestrial TV and is nothing related to what UPC provide which is encrypted etc...
