Trial shoe equivelent of lunarglide 3

    Ive started training for the mourne way ultra and i need my first pair of trail shoes. I have zero knowledge of them. As the thread title says im looking for the trail equilelent of something like the lunarglide 3. Thats what im mainly using as a road runner atm.

    I'm not familiar with the lunarglide as I tend to be an asics man. I found the Kildare outlet asics shop to be good.. a) for the selection and b) for the value. Last time I was there I came away with 3 pairs of trail shoes, 2 of which I'd be perfectly happy to run on road with. There is also a Nike outlet shop there so they might have a trail equivalent in their stock. Worth a visit in my view.

    Anything with some stability, im a mild overpronator and some support.

    Yep, you'll definitely get stability and support. You can check out their product on facebook. Check out asics kildare and their photos show the various products. I've a pair of the Trail attack 7s myself and wore them on the recent Wicklow way trail 25km event.

    has lunarlon like lunarglide but trail shoe and seems to be the only lunarlon-based trail shoe afaik. not as much stability as lunarglide but shoe give you some stability with the feel that you'll be used to.

    Will you get much grip from the lunarfly? They look no different to the grips/thread found on road runners :confused:31QGrZ4VJ8L.jpg

    on trails you would need a lot less cushioning and stability features. Because the running surface is generally softer, you need less cushioning. Because the surface is genrally uneven, the normal stability features of road runners would not function as they do on the road. You would need a pair of shoes that are closer to the ground to give you actual stability (rather than the 'stability' against pronation).
    Generally (as far as I can see), good offroad brands are inov8 and Salomon. These specialise in offroad shoes, rather than making them as a sideline.
