Good day ladies and gentlemen of boards.

I recently got my P45 from my previous employer and I'd like some help goig through it. What I want to know mainly is can I check on my P45 how much emergency tax I am owed? As I was emergency taxed for the duration of my employment.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Your P45 can't tell you how much tax you are due to be refunded. It tells you your Pay, PAYE and PRSI details from the start of the tax year to the date you ceased.
If you think you are due a refund of tax based on a P45 that refers to the present tax year, 2012, and are unemployed, then fill in a form P50 and submit to your local PAYE section with your P45. If the P45 refers to another tax year, just login to your online account and request a review (p21) for the year in question.
