Help: Thomson TWG870UIR 3DS trouble

    Hi I am not sure if anybody can help me with this.
    I have a thomson twg870uir router with upc, usually everything connects ok to it from laptops, ps3 to ios devices, but I am having trouble with my 3ds.

    I recently got a 3ds and am trying to access the eshop. I get asked to do a system update, when I do it just says 'An Error Occurred. Unable to Update' I have looked online and couldn't find much to help me I tried what it says on the Nintendo site http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/sys...s_internet.jsp but that doesn't help. And alot of the techincal information and solutions regarding changing router info goes over my head for the most part.

    I was wondering if anybody else had this problem and can help me or know how to fix it?

    I use the (UPC)thompson router with my 3DS no problem.
    You need to set it up in your 3DS settings to connect and make sure the wireless switch on your 3DS is on.

    Yeah everything is setup right I can even use the browser on the 3ds, I only have a problem with system update and connecting to eshop

    Weird.
    no idea, keep trying, turn it fully off (press power and tap "power off"/hold down the power button until all the lights go off) and back on again, make sure the SD card is in, check parental controls aren't set to anything funny.

    I had this problem myself, it was a nightmare.

    You need to log in to your router and disable the firewall. Then update, then go back and turn the firewall back on.

    Oh crap I completely forgot about that!
    Everything worked but the eShop.
    That should fix it for you.
