Is CIPD the only real route to recognised HR qualification?

    hi all,

I've been told by my manager that I have to get a proper qualification in HR, I've been covering the area for a good few years now but no formal qualifications.

Is CIPD really the best/most recognised qualification?

My problem with the CIPD is the length of time it takes to complete it - either 2 evenings a week or every second Saturday. Neither of which suit me for the coming years to be honest.

However if I some of the modules in block course format in the UK, won't the employment law section be different to that in Ireland?

Help, I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place on this!
