    Hi lads.

Just this morning opened up an xcel file and got an error stating

xls file in a different format than specified by the file extension

The file size says 0 bytes but it was a big file.

Is there anything i can do to get this back?

Looks like the file has been moved or renamed

do a search for it ?

if the file is there and is broken then use openoffice or libreoffice to open it.

If the file has 0bytes then it looks like its become corrupted/moved etc. Do a search on the computer "all files and folders" for *.xls and then *.xlsx (incase its a new format file). These cirteria will return all excel files on your computer, including the temporary directories once you ensure to search all files & folders
