Concra Wood would be hard to top in that neck of the woods - but might cost you a bit over the normal odds for an open

Concra Wood have started back with their open days again with an open singles every Tues for €35 and an open seniors every Wed for €30. From June they'll also be hosting an open singles competition from the Black tees on the first Fri of each month also for €35. A bit higher than the norm alright but it's supposed to be an amazing course, going to go play in their open in two weeks for the first time and really looking forward to it.

Another good course worth considering and based in Cavan is The Slieve Russell, according to the GUI site they've open singles each Mon in April but no idea of costs as their website doesn't show details.

Can't go wrong with Concra. Played there last Friday in the comp off the back markers and it was in good nick. Tough but spectacular course. Only downside to the place is that the fairways are a bit iffy. But, in fairness, that's like giving out about a few mud splashes on a Ferrari.
