Ch.750 now allows you to do a connectivity test to the UPC network (by using the red button).

As an aside the 'info' channel is currently down

Would guess that with rte player coming on stream in the next month or so it is just to make sure that the box is connected to the net so that when rte player comes online that it will be able to get the service

Got three Dvrs yesterday two passed one has failed on the second heading and the last. That box can't connect to my UPC app, rang them two hours they said that box not activated right, they rang back after ten mins to say its activated now, yet it still fails the test, and app can still not find that box. It took nearly 24 hours for first two boxes to find the app so will wait tomorrow morning to see if it will work. If not going to demand a technician call.

1 of my boxes was failing, which is also the box beside my Broadband. phone connection ..

I had a few intermittent phone call failures, so I rang them yesterday and from the check that the tech did online, he said I had a low upstream signal.

He raised a ticket yesterday and tech called to house first thing this morning,

He put a meter on and said my upstream signal was low. I was online at the time on something urgent, so he told me he'd get someone else to call later.

He sent a second cabling team here a few hours later and they were considering running a second cable to same point to avoid splitter and 4dB loss .. After looking outside, they spotted that this particular point had another splitter outside as well, another 4dBs loss, so they disconnected me from splitter and put my point onto direct cable connection while relocating my neighbour to the splitter :-) as they didn't have broadband connection ..

All in all, Excellent customer services and my test now passes, Hopefully no call drops either ...

UPC lad came a half hour early, sorted out a few internal cables, the box now passed the test and will remote record. He wasn't happy with the outdoor cables so other lads supposed to come tomorrow morn to sort that out. When full signal hit the box it also wiped out those recordings that were due to be recorded , got a bit of a fright when I tried to look at recordings that were finished and got a blank screen!!! Seems to have rectified itself , anybody else have that happen to them that recordings wouldn't play?
