Hi lads i'm looking for a little help.

It's my grandad's golf memorial 10yr anniversary this year and we normally play a course's local to us Bray,Woodbrook,Old Conna,Edmonstown etc each year but as it's 10yrs we were looking for a nice course to play with a local hotel to stay the night close nearby for up to 36 players. I've been looking around at some places but can't seem to get a hotel near the course for a decent price. We are looking for somewhere around the Meath/Kildare/Midlands area. Was thinking of Wicklow but i think everyone in our group has more or less played all the courses in Wicklow! It's in September if that's any help!

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I did read what you said about Wicklow but still think this deal is worth looking at

Try Ballymascanlon Hotel and Golf Course just outside Dundalk and only one hour up the motorway from Dublin. Lovely course and great food.

+1 for The Heritage, that would be my choice. Don't know about costs but the hotel is supposed to be amazing and the course definitely is having played it a couple of times.
I'm guessing you're tied to a weekend since there's 36 golfers so that may limit the choice and increase the costs somewhat but you've plenty of time to organise something. Golf courses with hotels to consider would be Tulfarris (my home club), Knightsbrook, Portmarnock Links, Headfort (guesthouse across the road rather than a hotel on site) etc.

Bunclody would be an excellent bet - there's a hotel opposite the entrance with a good restaurant on the top floor, although food in the clubhouse is also very good.

    Mount Wolseley

Macreddin (but you suggest you've all played it)

    Waterford Castle

    Faithlegg (Waterford)

    Knightsbrook (Meath)

Thanks for the reply's have tried Tulfarris but there booked out for the whole year at weekends! We actually asked them last year and it was booked out! Knightsbrook was another option we are looking at especially with the houses they have.

Not exactly tied to one weekend either so any option around September/October is doable!

Have actually stayed at the Ballymascanlon hotel before and very nice the course looks quite decent too. Never even thought of it

Citywest has been done before and probably too close to home anyway!

Carton House is also booked out.

    Trying to get a Friday/Saturday

Meltdown is on the way :D

I'll try some of the others now thanks for the help

Again, I know you said you played the local courses, but what about Powerscourt - 2 courses and the Ritz hotel.

Rathsallagh? I think you could probably get a good deal there.

Portmarnock Hotel & Links might have availability - they certainly did for an outing earlier in the summer I'm going to. Cracking course and a good hotel, or so I'm told.

You could try staying in Johnstown House out near Enfield and play either the Knockanally or Moyvalley courses nearby.

If you tried staying in Killashee Hotel, you'd also have the Curragh (!) or Naas to choose from either.

    I should be a tour guide...:D

Local courses to me which I would reccommend would be:
Roganstown, Portmarnock or even Skerries and stay at the Pierhouse

Esker Hills would be worth a look. Lots of hotels in Tullamore close by and houses on the golf course too.

    another vote for glasson here.

Athlone GC is another one to look at - the Hodson Bay hotel is right beside the course & buggies are available to hire.

Another one for Knightsbrook, super course there. And Rathcore, Moyvalley and Kileen Castle all within 20 minutes of it if you fancied a round somewhere else.
