Further to my earlier post, I have a another question re underfloor heating
    UFH is throughout house
Tiles in kitchen, and bathrooms and hall
    Wooden floor in living room
    Carpets in bedrooms

Is UFH a wise choice with carpets and 1 wooden floor

    Will be using
    http://www.nibe.eu/Domestic-heatingc...er-heat-pumps/

House is approx 1800 sqft , underfloor heating, timber frame , approx two years old
    ber B2

    Thanks

It will depend on the capret tog value and the u-value of the timber relative to its thickness. Timber is a natural insulator with a low u value so it will naturally block the heat from passing through it. Ceramic tiles are the best covering as they are a natural conductor of heat.

I personally have a mixture of timber floors and ceramic tiles. The tiled floors are definitely warmer, but the timber floors are warmer looking, if that makes sense. Be careful of softwoods in that they can expand and contract a bit too much and on extreme cases, warp.

For carpets, you will need to check with the individual manufacturer on their suitability.
