Two bathrooms being stripped and remade.

    1. Recommendations for a good quality fan for a shower/bathroom? Our last unit was a commercial kitchen fan that I collared from a previous existence, but it was always a bit noisy.

    2. I got a replacement for a Durgo valve today - the previous valve has been in place for 12 years and when I went to remove it, the plumber had 'helpfully' solvent welded it into the pipe (cost about £140 in 2000). The replacement is a cheap black unit (Excel) with the recommendation of solvent weld. The cap can be unscrewed, just wondering if I should have it tight or loose. Any suggestions?
