Would it be too crazy? Maybe it is too crazy but its an interesting thought.

He has 20 goals this season and behind Llorente and Soldado he is the next most in form Spanish striker. Would you bring him ahead of Torres or Villa?

    No.

And that from a Madrid fan who thinks the man is a legend.

If Torres and Villa were at peak form, yes. But one is injured and the other having a poor season, whereas Raul has been consistant enough, including in the CL. So not that crazy.

But he's never really been as lethal for Spain as he was for his clubs, and he'd probably be a disruptive influence given his age and seniority.

I think if Ireland ever have a chance of holding Spain to a 0-0, it's in the Euros.

I can't see it happening though, but possibly our best opportunity ever given the uncertainty over their forwards.

for ireland, england and most of the other teams, maybe yes...

but for spain, who have about 50 world class players to choose from at this stage and a very good strikeforce, then no....not a chance.

What did Spain win with him before he retired from international football?

Yeh in other position tho, what other Forwards have they got? That are'nt injured, in form and playing at the highest level with International experiance?

I'd say its not crazy at all, would defo be on my bench as a 3rd choice.

Spain could well only take 2 recognised forwards to the Euros.

He deserves to go ahead of Torres. Especially if you consider that Villa probably wont kick a ball for Barca before the Euros.

If they go for a Wildcard Cristian Tello might be worth a punt. Hasn't yet been called up but at 20 is the future of Spain.

Nothing. ? Far from his fault though.

Surely Soldado and Llorente would get in before him.

Surely Soldado and Llorente will be 1st and 2nd choice. My thinking was that would there be any chance of him getting in before Villa and Torres.

What did Stoichkov win with Bulgaria, Hagi with Romania, Lineker with England, and so on. not fair criteria for judging a player's talent.

Bring Villa, Llorente, Munain, Mata, Soldado and Doni.

I'd possibly put Pedro ahead of him too, but maybe not on form - ok certainly not on form, but the energy of Pedro is something I'd want.

You left out Best and Dunphy

Should be considered but he wont

Llorente, Soldado, Muniain, Rodriguez are all higher in the pecking order

I'd be surprised to see Torres or Villa at the Euros

I think there seems to be a general feeling in Spain that Llorente and Ville are sure to be picked (if Villa is fit) and then it's between Soldado and Torres for the last spot.

What has Messi won with Argentina?

The lad is doing the business week in week out,so why not bring him.

At this stage bringing Torres would be a joke.

People forget that you cant buy experience.

Ageism is alive and well with a lot of people here.

It's not like Spain are lacking, they won Euro 2008 and the World Cup?
