In order to connect an acoustic guitar (pickup fitted inside) to a mic channel on a mixer - should I use a DI box?

    For best results, yes.

Is there any difference between using a DI box and a Line out of a practice amp e.g. Microcube?

Feylya - I reckon this one's for you - will be interested to know myself. I'm putting my money on using a DI box on an amp line out though - do I get today's prize??

Not as far as I know, bar an unprocessed signal through the DI box.

In that case...Philm_12, have you any practice amps you could use?!!! :)

I am a simple man (some say very simple). So I'll be following Feylya's original answer - connecting my guitar to an active DI box and into the mixer. Will be using a stage monitor (headphones when recording) to keep a check on everything that's going on.
