Hi all, hope this is the right place to post.

I am surprised no footage has ever surfaced of this chase considering it went on for so long and involved so many Garda cars.

Thread here is shy of pics/videos as well

It was the subject of a conversation recently which also included the guy who drove down Henry St in Dublin in the middle of a shopping day ploughing through shoppers.

Anyone ever seen footage/pics/documentation on these events?

Well if you think about it was 6 years ago - I'm guessing the reason there are not many pictures or videos about because mobile phones back then were pretty poor by today's standards in terms of the camera. I'd say 2MP and low resolution if your lucky - and that was for new phones.

And if you also think of where most "eye witness" pictures and videos come from these days, in 2006 YouTube only was only a year in existence and twitter was barely a few months old. The whole social media thing was just taking off in the mainstream.

We've probably just got more used to the level of instant pictures / videos now and it seems weird in retrospect.

I believe that there was some pics/video in footage at the time. Certainly think there was some shown on the news at the time. If I recall a woman died in a car struck by the bus and 13 others injured.

Here's the Garda chasing a Micra in Finglas.

Indeed. Although cameras had actually been in phones for quite some time (I got a phone in early 2002 with a 1.2MP camera), there was little or no sharing of such things. MMS never really took off - it was expensive and the pictures were never great - and people weren't in the habit of connecting their phones to the computer and downloading the pictures. So you wouldn't bother taking your phone out to take a video of something, because who were you going to show it to?
