Not sure if this is the right section, but there you go anyways!

We have a Lumix DMC-TZ6, and the zoom seems to have gotten a bit sticky, think it might have been stage fog. Any clues as to how one would go about cleaning the mechanism?

    Much thanks!

How old is the camera? Its probably just broken? I doubt stage fog can cause damage to a little lens motor?

It's about two years old or so. Should clarify, it's not the zoom itself, it's the wee bit you jiggle to make the zoom happen.

stage fog is usually mineral oil, so would rarely cause stickiness, normally it can leave an oily coating on lenses

OK, so. Any idea on how to stop the wee jiggly bit from sticking?

You probably can't I'm afraid.. Its old for a compact. The only thing I can think of is if you were to clean it? If its the button I'm thinking about its probably just got some built up residue maybe?

Do you think maybe a small alcohol wipe or something might do the trick if I were to be gentle?
