looking into getting an m14(full length version) seems to be a bit of a selection out there and alot of mixed reviews :P...the tm m14 has got excellent reviews but no irish retailer seems to have it in stock. so has anyone any experience with the g&g m14 or the CA m14 ? from what i gathered looking on the net the CA is a clone of the g&g(not sure how true that is). there is to many mixed reviews on the g & g so any help or advice or if any has any experience with any of them it would be a help thanks

The full length CYMA M14 was my first AEG. I asked a retailer to import one especially for me. I liked it. It didnt give me any trouble. However I found I didnt like how long it was. It was my only gun at the time and I found it impractical in that way so I sold it to a friend. Ive been thinking about getting a SOCOM version ever since. You might like the length more than me. Be warned it weighs a ton :D

I've been sporting a M14 match(full length) with additional full rails for several years now, and I love it to bits. I got a second hand TM M14, never upgraded the internals. Never had a problem with it, using it mainly in single fire. The rail adds a bit of weight, but also a lot of rail estate for lights, sights and the like. Or just rail covers :) My gun is probably between 6 and 8 years by now, 5 in my ownership. Just took it over to Cope Hill Down as my primary, still going strong. I have been using it with 2000Mah 8.4Volt large batteries mainly.

Even the cheap Deep Fire 70 rounds mags worked flawlessly, no feeding issues. Only issue was one of the mags, it got so worn down on the mag catch. Out of 8 mags after 5 years of usage, I would say it is very good.

The lenght of it will make it hard to wield if you are 175cm or less I would say. After all, it is a long, heavy gun. I would refer to go for the shorter Socom first.

As for brands of M14s, I have heard all kinds of things of Classic Army and G&G. Most negative. Cyma and Kart I have not heard too much about. Kart and G&G makes a good platform for upgrading if you are going for a full internal rebuild anyways.
