Hi all, This is my first post and my question might be duplicated, I planted forestry land in 2005 and I was compensated by the ESB for land that was not planted under their power lines. my question is can I fence off this land and graze it.

Did the ESB buy the land off you, if not what does the agreement/contract with them say? if nothing, its your land, do as you will.......

No the land is mine, the money was to compensate me for not being allowed to plant trees on the land under the power lines.

Of course you can graze it. The payment for compensation for not planting trees.

Did you own the land before the line was erected or did you buy the land with the line on it?

once you fence it off you can graze it no problem at all. certain powerlines through forestry come with extra compensation to help fence off the unplanted area so the esb defnetly wont have a problem. just be sure to get the fencing right so the trees arnt damaged and beware not to feck up any drains on the land if at all possible
