Anyone Else has a XPS15

Have an Xps15 1501x. Anyone else have an issue with the fans? Many people have the same issues in other forums without a solution.

Basically the fan is starting to drive me cuckoo. The fan will come on literally every five seconds. If I boot the computer and open nothing it will still come on when cold.

I have tried everything. Updated all the drivers, bios etc. Recently I had it reformatted but still the same. If I click on the battery and change profiles between battery saving and high performance the fans will turn off... For a few minutes. My temps from cpu software never goes above 47-48c. It's that when I turn on the computer.

I heard people saying on other forums that dell have put too much thermal paste on the cpu or gpu and that's the problem.

Anyone else suffer the same problem? Any suggestions, thanks.

Its a laptop. The fans will run. Pretty much all laptops are going to act like that, and if they didn't it would only result in more of the same crashes seen in yesteryears where, because the fans weren't running more consistently, the GPUs and CPUs experienced a much wilder temperature range and started breaking down from expansion and contraction. You can try to find software to override it, but I don't necessarily advise it. Another option is for your light computer use, to look at a second device such as a tablet, which doesn't make any noise at all, and still generates less heat.
