    Hi there,

We are looking to relocate to the dublin area with our first baby.

Could anyone recommend any good family estates/areas etc?

    Thanks in advance

Dublin and environs is a big place!
Where will you be working? Do you have support network in Dublin you would like to be near?

Hi there, thanks for the reply.

Were looking for a completely fresh start, have previously lived in wicklow, currently working in the uk, but we would like to move back to ireland. However, we thought dublin/surrounding area would offer more oppurtunities and amenities on our doorstep in contrast to wicklow etc. The main hing for us is that it will be a good area to bring up a child and for us a couple to meet new people.

Honestly OP Dublin is so big and there's so many areas that are perfectly good for families to live in that it's slightly difficult to give advice without slightly more information.

On the Northside-Clontarf, Sutton, Howth, Malahide, Drumcondra, Glasnevin, Castleknock, Raheny etc. would all be considered great places to live for people of any age but families in particular.

The Southside would have an even bigger range-Ballsbridge, Donnybrook, Ranelagh, Rathgar, Milltown, Dartry Sandymount, Blackrock, Monkstown, parts of Dun Laoghaire, Dalkey, Clonskeagh, Mount Merrion, Terenure, Templelogue, Dundrum etc. etc.

All great areas and that's only off the top of my head. Some have better schools, some have better restaurants, shops, parks, public transport etc. depending on what exactly you want.
