Our tank is very rusty. Not leaking but time to change it.

Approx price I should expect to pay?
Also how is a new tank brought through an average size attic door gap?

They use coffin tanks now. Tank/lid and fittings will cost about 200-250 the plumber will need to see the job most likely but at an estimate about 250 as well.

Bear in mind they leave the old tank up there because when the house was put to gether the tank was put in before the roof was put on.

Also a new base needs to be built as the old one will not be long enough for the new tank. The whole of the tank base needs to be supported with a timber frame and a sheet of marine ply wood, so this to needs to be taken into account when pricing. All the wood needed would cost about 60 quid too, the ply being the most expensive.

A tank jacket should also be used for insulation and will cost about 20/30 quid.

I would say about €600 for a legitimate company to do it. How many bathrooms and sanitary appliances dose the tank need to feed?
