Ok, here goes. Accident of history, and I'm not about to change it all, as it's working and too darn expensive to change it all at this stage. I have an old Panasonic Hybrid PABX, KXTD8-16, which was originally set up for analog lines, and at one stage, had 3 of them on it, with a whole collection of extensions of varying sorts around the place, about 9 digital extensions, and originally, a few analog extensions for things like Fax, and old modems and the like.

It works well, does what we need, and I can't afford to change it at the moment.

There's one aggravation, which is a long standing one, if I want to get all the modern information, like CLI, I have to go to an ISDN input board, which effectively replaces the PSTN card. I have one of them, and could fit it, but the issue now is that I'm not on a wired line any more, for the last 12 months, we've been using Imagine WImax, which works acceptably as far as I'm concerned, and if I use wired rather than wireless connect, I get close to or above 8Mb download, which is enough for now, and the phone line package is reasonable.

So, what I need to try and achieve is to be able to convert what's coming out of the WImax box, which is effectively an analog phone line, to ISDN, so that the switch can recognise the extra information like CLI, which will mean I can then see incoming call numbers on the phone displays, things like that.

The Wimax is connected to the PABX now, and works, effectively, the Wimax is putting out a PSTN signal on to the analog line card of the KXTD, and we then get the call on the PABX exactly as it always has worked, with no issues of any significance. I'd like to get the voice side output as an ISDN standard signal so I can use the ISDN card instead.

Anyone got any ideas on if there is such a thing as a WImax ISDN box that will take the VOIP signal from the network and convert it to an ISDN signal.

There used to be an external converter for PSTN to ISDN, but all the links I'm seeing are saying out of stock, and I'm wondering if that box is no longer available.

    Thanks

    Steve

Shore, if it was easy, everybody would be doin it.😁
