The correct wireless router for 3G internet

    Hi all,

I hope I'm not asking too stupid a question or one that has already been covered. I've a fairly basic knowledge of wireless networking and routers, but I should be able to follow directions. Here is my problem.

At home I'm restricted to a 3G internet connection (the joys of living in a rural area!). The majority of the time this connection is perfectly acceptable for surfing the internet and light downloading. This internet is provided by 'Three' through the national broadband scheme and I don't see it getting better in the near future so I have to work with what I've got.

The 3G dongle I use is the Huawei Mobile Broadband Model E122. This has been fine for the the netbook I own, but a recent birthday has found me in owership of a wireless only Ipad.

A couple of quick google searches have highlighted the fact that there are wireless routers available that will work by plugging these 3G modems into them and creating a WiFi hotspot.

    I've been looking at these........

I suppose the questions I want to ask are........

What should I be looking out for in these wireless routers?
What would be a serious red flag?
Have any of you guys had experience using wireless routers which broadcast 3G internet rather than fixed line internet?

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

    Vincent

If you get a mifi, webcube or b260 off 3 they'll support you all 3 of them are wireless routers. You could be due an upgrade so you'd have it for next to nothing. It might be the better option if you need support.

    Thanks DrunkMonkey!

I'll give them a buzz on Tuesday and see what they say. I actually do think I'm coming to the end of my current 3G dongle contract.

What is the difference between the 3 different routers? To my untrained eye they look very similar.
