    Hi All,
My girlfriend and I are catching the 6am to Amsterdam from Dublin in the morning. We have heard the airport is exceptionally busy this week with the long weekend and are thinking of leaving rathmines at 3.30am. Just wondering do people think this is enough time to park up in the blue car park transfer to T2 look around the shops and board? Also does this flight depart from the new T2 gates or do you have to walk to the old T1 gates which I believe happens for some early morning departures. Many thanks in advance

3.30 will be fine, no traffic at that time of the morning.

30 mins to airport, check in and should leave you with 90 mins to kill your credit card with ;)

Thanks a lot. I'm reliably informed it's the place to go for Mac makeup...... Whatever the hell that is! :)

Don't worry too much about this. As you get thru security you will see the gates listed on the screens. Any '4xx' gate is 'in' T2, if you see '3xx' listed for your flight then add 5 mins to your walk. In reality the walk to the Pier B gates is not much more than to the very end of Pier E (T2 gates)

(And there is a MAC shop beside T1 security which is on the way!!!)

That is good to know thank you Tenger :) .....about the gates I'm sure my other half will be delighted about the shop :)

I dont think a majority of the shops will open til five.. 4.15 would do you perfect to leave in my opinion!

The flight will depart form T2 (Pier E) but as already stated you will see very few shops as you boarding card will say be at gate for 05.35. Most lightly the gate you will be departing from will be half way up Pier E.

I wonder how the make-up shopping when for the OP?

Wasn't there a guy recently was going to book a E10 flight just so he could get access the Dixons airside?

Haven't herd of a 10eur flight in quiet a while, between gov taxes / airport taxes / credit crd fees is it even possible. Plus you are unlikely to get any discount flights within 1mth of travel so after you pay for transportation surely online would have been cheaper

Ryanair still occasionally have €3 flights where they take the hit on airport fees, etc; they become €9 with the card fee.

Have got one for three weeks out before, DUB-LBA, albeit I didn't actually use it in the end...

Greetings all from a wet and overcast Amsterdam; but very interesting none the less. Tenger in answer to your question the shopping went very well the better half managed to blow a few quid on a few bits that would fit on the palm of your hand ...... The mind boggles! On another note was very unimpressed with the cabin staff on the flight which pains me to say because normally I find Aer lingus impeccable. They spent the majority of the trip in the aft galley giving out loudly about the powers that be who make their rosters etc. We could hear them midway up the cabin.... Such a shame because previous experiences with are lingus have been fantastic..... Just wondering has anyone else ever experienced anything similar?

they must have been roaring their head off if you heard them midway down the plane.

What was your problem with them? short haul is usually fairly straight forward:
-go down the aisle with the food trolley,
-go down the aisle with the duty free trolley,
    -collect rubish before landing.

After that they have no reason to be roaming the cabin.

I'm sorry and I really don't mean to offend but what I'd your question? :)

For a man with such eloquent English I'd have expected you to know what a question mark means.

Lol I know a couple Aer Lingus FA's and they are always giving out about their rosters so I can definitely see this scenario happening!

P.s. Flight home this evening EI611 was Aer Lingus at it's best; an excellent show of professionalism.
