Bolts will more than likely require more than gentle encouragement, a ramp would be ideal. Jacked on the drive at home it's not a pleasant task.

    Amen!
I did once change the cat on the GF's MX5. Having the car on jacks and stands and crawling underneath is not pleasant at the best of times, but removing the exhaust system, cutting it up, welding it at a friends place and then discovering it is ever so slightly skewed led to a screaming nightmare wrestling it back into place.
Plus it was sub-zero, so those rubber rings where unwieldy to say the least.
I still wake up bathed in sweat at 3 am sometimes.:)
So, cat at home in the drive with a jack and a few stands, not for the faint hearted!
And I just heard one guy I knew who had a scrap yard got killed recently when the car he was under fell on him.
You gotta know what you're doing!

Some of them can be ignorant enough even when you have them on a lift, I would dread the thought of doing one on the ground on stands

So, did you put the original cat back in? Was it just the sealant?

Well that's a good result, and a surprisingly painless one.
So Boards Motoring Top Tip: Check the sealant before ripping out the cat and replacing it!
I'm sure a lot of people have them replaced needlessly.
    Well wear.
