CANON CAMERAS EOS NEW MODELS

Me and my friend have been talking about Canon's EOS range of cameras. We both agree on a 7DmkII but will we see the 60D being taken off the line up and see a 700D with the rear scroll wheel and the scroll wheel slowly move onto the 650,750D range and also onto the 1200,1300D range. would we also see the LCD screen thats on the top of the 5DmkIII, 7D, 1DmkVI & 1DmkX move on top the entry level cameras, so eventually all of the Canon DSLR cameras will have the rear scroll wheel & the top LCD screen.

would this be too radical or be the new megapixel battle that happened a few years back?
Also would the 7D mkII be seen this year or in 2013?
what specs would use think it'd be in the camera.

http://www.canonrumors.com/ - a good resource for rumours about upcoming Canon products, and estimates as to when.

The 60Da has been confirmed though right?

The 60Da has been confirmed though right?

Yep, it's officially confirmed, from the Canon website.

There's sample images from it online too.

But it's just a tweaked model to replace the 20Da. It won't see significant volume and is primarily for astronomy. iirc you can also buy canon sensors for scientific work such as implementation into experiments.

Aren't the previous posters aware of that?

I think so. What I was getting at was that I think the announcement of the 60Da is non related to any new developments form Canon in terms of a new 7D etc.

And what is it about the 7D that users feels needs an upgrade?

I thought it was about as well rounded as a cropped sensor dslr was likely to get, snappy AF, big viewfinder, bags of cross type AF points, movie mode etc. is there much that needs upgrading at all?

Have professional cameras become a bit like other consumer electronics now in that people are happier to just wait for the next big thing? Maybe it's always been that way.

I bought my 5Dmk2 recently because I was able to look at what my favourite photographers were using and know that if it's good enough for them then it's good enough for me.

Snappier AF would be nice, but it's not a deal breaker!

Well that's the thing. What else could they do to the 7D apart from maybe a new sensor and perhaps a fold out screen? It's an excellent camera all round. The 5D mkII has the unpopular autofocus which has been improved in the mkIII. The mkIII ergonomics converge with the 7D's.

to be honest i dont like the flip out screens on the 60D or the 600D, looks cheap or something, i know the pros and cons of having one. if the 7DmkII does come out i'd happily buy one once its a good price and a good upgrade or the 7D and no flip out screen.
