The kids Wii is starting up ok but the TV Screen is blank. The console is connecting to the TV ok because when its turned the Game is displayed.
We tried it on a second tv but its still the same. I pressed reset but no joy.
    Any ideas?

Pop out the SD card if there's one there. A soft moded Wii with the wrong SD in the slot can do this.

How is the tv displaying the game if the screen is blank? Do you mean you named the av channel? Or do you get the system menu but it won't start up games? Is this that annoying bug where you select a game / channel, the screen goes black, the wiimote goes off and you have to wait for it to come back for ages? Put the kettle on...

How is the Wii connected to the telly?

Ok sorry my information is misleading. The tv is a samsung. If you connect a device it can identify what it is, so a Blue ray shows up as blue ray detected and the same for the wii it just shows up as a game consol being connected. We cant see the wii screen but we can see its making the connection to the tv. We are using the av connection on the side of the tv to connect, this has been ok since we got it and it was working fine.
I will check tomorrow if the controllers are making the connection when the kids are up.

    Thanks for your question.
