    HI all
I am a sizing a suitable submersible pump to go about 90 meters in a bored well which it will pump to a 300 lt pressure vessel on top of the well. From there the water needs to climb to an elevation of about 75 meters at its highest point, my question is am i right in saying i will need a pump with a head of at least 165 meters = 235 psi pressure to achieve this if the water in the well dropped down near the pump,my confusion is 235 psi is over 16 bar which seems very excessive,am i calculating something wrong?

No, your calculations are spot on. The pump would also need to deliver a reasonable flow at that pressure.

You could also pump in stages - a submersible pump to raise the water to the ground level pressure vessel, and a second pump to pump from there to the location at 75m elevation.

Yes flow is also important here, there's a 2 inch pipe in place, i will find out volume required and work pumps from there, the second pump seems to be the best option maybe a vertical multi stage in the pumohouse, also are pressure vessels rated to 10 bar and what kind of pipe would take this pressure, the pipe I usually use is the blue 12 bar mdpe. Thanks again
