I was going to download Team Fortress 2 but it says I need to delete disc space in order to download it. For some reason I can't delete anything in my recycling box and even If i could it would still ask for more disc space. Any help?

By the way, I'm not at all good at computers so if you guys could say it in plain english. Thanks

You will need to delete something of a substantial size to replenish the space. Why doesn't the recycle bin empty? Does it show any errors, if so let us know. If when you go into "My Computer" and you have what looks like 2 hard disks (i.e partitions) set steam to download to the drive with most space, so if it is drive D for example install the game to D:\

    try ccleaner:
    www.piriform.com/ccleaner

It's good at getting rid of junk files. What version of windows are you using and how big is your hard-drive?

Well, It won't even let me press 'Empty the recycle bin'

And also, There is another hard disk drive, The one that's full up and red is labeled 'Acer (c:)' and the empty one is labeled 'Data (f:)'
How do I get steam to download off the empty disk drive?

When I went into the 'tools' section it came up that it wanted to delete my other pc games such as age of empires and other programs like winrar and bit torrent. How do I delete just what I want?

Yeah this pisses me off no end, that manufacturers set a C: drive for Windows with limited space while making another partition for the other stuff. I assume there is a reason for it, possibly a oem backup and restore system or something as such but its a nuisance. I've no idea how you would set Steam to download to the F: drive, but look for advanced settings or properties for the download/something along those lines within the steam interface. You may need to change your steamapps directory completely, see here.
Check out this guide to sort the recycle bin issue

Click cleaner (left hand side), click analyze and after it's finished analyzing click run cleaner. You I think are looking at the uninstall feature. No need to go near that

I found it, Thanks, I'll come back If i need more help. :)

Actually It would take me a long time to uninstall every program 1 by 1. Is there any quick way?

Or how do I use the other free space disk drive?

Only uninstall what you dont need. There's no need to uninstall anything yet as there's plenty of ways to recover space without having to uninstall any programs.

What version of windows are you using?

In ccleaner click tools, click system restore, wiat a few sconds or a minute. How many files (if any) show up in the white space next to system restore?

As I said I'm not that good on computers I don't even know what version I'm using. Nothing came on the 'System restore'.

Wouldn't I just be better off using the other disk drive? How do I put steam on it though?

If you computer is working perfect I would turn off system restore and then restart it. The amount of space restore points take up can be quite big.

I clicked on 'Run cleaner' Should I cancel it? Will it delete all of my personal stuff?

Steam has to be installed on c drive. Can you open windows explorer (press windows key and E)
    navigate to:
    C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download

delete everything in here by selecting all, holding shift key and pressing delete.

Check the space on your c drive by writing clicking C: in windows explorer and clicking properties

Try moving your Steam directory to drive F: like I posted above. That should sort this space issue,

If you knew someone who was good with computers, show them this thread and they should be able to do it for you.
