I know this has been dealt with (mostly with successfully) on related threads
but despite using that info, and, even going to the trouble of a complete re-scan, still no C5.

    Any ideas?

You probably need to add the C5 transponder to your list, being on a new satellite the box may not know it.

    Doesn't a re-scan automatically do this?

Not necessarily. Some boxes work off a pre-defined transponder list rather than scanning all available frequencies.
