Im 15 years old, Im 96 kg in weight 6ft 1 inch in height , I have NEVER boxed before.I live in Killinarden Heights in Tallaght ,Dublin 24 .I always wanted to get into it but never have i was always afraid of getting knocked around .recently i watched a rocky movie (as you do) and wanted to do more(apart from play call of duty) so I joined the ARENA GYM where i live ,i lost 4 stone so far and wanted to get into a good sport.

I dont know any clubs near my area apart from one in jobestown which i heard was very good one,but i dont need a good one im just a beginner .

would a club take a begginer at this stage ,i thought they would be coming into some cup like the under 16 championship ,but i dont know.

i was looking threw the argos catalogue ,what equipment (eg glove weight hook and jab pads) would i need for starting, and what club would take me in.

    all advice appreciated

Best thing to do is go up and just join, don't buy cheap gear from Argos-the clubs have most you need and when you do but gear get better quality than Argos gear!

At 16 it should be no issue joining.

Ps. If its open just join-don't worry about seasons, it's not like football

It won't be expensive, probably 5 a week for underage. Bring 10 and find out the cost when your there. Cant see a website for them.
Think this number is for Patrick who it says looks after the club - 01 4624157

You could just turn up on the day either

there's more than 1 club in Tallaght.

is the sacred heart boxing club still in the killinarden community centre?

also St Marys is down beside Dominics shopping centre in Avonbeg.

there is another club called westside, or west something, i dont know where it is, but i think its jobstown or brookfield,

edit, its called westside, its run by some guy from fettercairn.

    here's the info here http://www.tallaght4kids.ie/clubs/index.html
