    Hi Collectors,

I am a member of the MSoI and I was wondering if there were other members of the society who were also here on boards.ie

For anyone who does not know the MSoI set up meetings and fairs at the Teachers Club.

    Happy Easter. :)

I have been a member of the MSOI for a few years.

    Hi R.Dub.Fusilier,

I believe there is another journal coming out in the next few weeks.

Do you know if the auction on the 26th May 2012 is followed by a fair or is a fair going to take place at all that day?

    Thank you. :)

Far as I know on auction days there is no fair. I joined once (on the day of an auction) but they never had a record of me anytime I went to a fair from then on. In the end I stopped mentioning being a member as it was less grief.

i went to one of the meetings before a fair about two years ago and besides the committee members i was the only other person there. i thought there would have been more there. the last fair i was at there was only about four or five tables and not many looking.

the members forum on the website is lacking posters and topics but the journal archives are a brilliant source of information for collectors.

    Hi R.Dub.Fusilier,

Yes, the MSOI fair / meetings can be very disappointing. The MOSI are more into Irish / British historical items.

I have also joined another club in Ireland ( IMCC ) which are into a variety of collecting. I have started a thread on that club also.

The MSOI and the IMCC are the only society / club that I am a member of. As far as I know they are the only two collecting groups in the country.

Does anyone from the MSOI have any idea when the auction items will be uploaded to the site? Leaving it a bit late, aren't ye?

Yeah, I do not know what the story was with that to be quite honest. I have been looking at items in the auction area that I gave in to be auctioned around 4 years ago and there still up on the site despite the fact they were sold 4 years ago.

They obviously do not update the website which is probably why less than 20 people turned up for the last auction on the 26th May. Less than 50% of the lots sold at the auction. I do not think it was a success. :(

    Hi,

Here is the MSOI website address. I believe all the journals are available to read online.

The annual general meeting was held today the 15th June at the Teachers Club, Parnell Square, Dublin.

I will post some photo's of the event soon.

    Admission was free.

Here are some photographs taken on Saturday 15th 2013. If anyone else is interested in joining the MSOI an application forum is available to download from the website. PAYPAL is also an option which can be paid through the website also.

If anyone is interested in displaying some or all of there collection at the next fair please contact the MSOI. :)

By the way a bar which sells tea, coffee, soft drinks, alcohol, biscuits and sandwiches is a permanent feature in The Teacher's Club, so if you are in need of some refreshment it is readily available. I have often sat off in the lounge and enjoyed a drink with friends while watching some sport on the wide screens. :p

The show on Saturday 7th September IMO was good. I picked up a Royal Dublin Fusilier cap badge which was my first ever item belonging to the RDF. I was really delighted with it. The show was bigger in size compared to the last one so I have approx 60 photo's. It also contained a better selection too which you will all see.

    I will upload the photo's.
