    Season 1 = excellent

    Season 2 = Good

Season 3 = Excellent. Emma Booth was crazy hot in it.

Season 4 = Average. Took ages to get interesting and just wasn't as good as the others.

they also made 3 mini films that were also good

Sounds like you saw series 1 from 2008. TV3 showed the that season, not sure why they didn't show anymore, good series, must track down the rest.

Ya, pretty much but the police officers are fictional vaguely based on the real officers (laws prevent them from potraying taskforces/police officers).

Picked up the first season from Play.com this time last year for €3.99, but never got a chance to watch it.

Will watch it during the summer methinks!

manages to get the three of the films they made i watched one last night infiltration, not bad, again based around true facts.
just a heads up when i was watching season one, one of the neighbours popped round, and tapped on the window, and of course it had to be one of the many sex scenes that seem to happen in every episode :o
i closed the blinds the for the next episode :D

Sorry for giving this old thread a bump. Hadn't actually been aware of this series up to recently but after watching a Season 2 episode by chance on CBS drama the other night im really taken by it. I managed to watch Season 1 and im highly impressed. The cops really had their work cut out for them in Melbourne.

I think you mean CBS Action :pac:. It's been a while since I watched it but I enjoyed it too.

I was also impressed by the huge number of recognizable faces from the Aussie acting community that appear in it.

I can remember the guy who played Jason Moran (Les Hill) acting in home and away in the early 90s and i seen Dieter Brummer (also H & A) is in the second series.

Terrific show and there is some very talented Australian actors/actresses. Impressive that they never went down the route of getting a big name to further attract viewers like Love/Hate done with Sheehan and Gillen. Even the likes of a Paul Hogan or Brian Brown.

Alot of the actors that portray each of the criminals actually bear resemblance toward the criminal they play

I'm sorry for dragging up this thread again. But I've just watched the three seasons on netflix and am hooked on this. Does anyone now where I can watch the other seasons? I see season 5&6 are on Hulu but no season 4.

im in the same boat as yourself. i dunno whether to skip season 4 and just watch season 5. i heard season 4 isn't that great would anyone be able to fill me in if its any good ?

Season 4 is better than 5 IMO

  • Moderators, Arts Moderators Posts: 35,909 Mod ✭✭✭✭pickarooney

Season four is brutal. There's no connection whatsoever with the other series either so no harm skipping it in terms of continuity

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 991 ✭✭✭on_my_oe

You'll like season 4 if you're a fan if the BBC historical crime dramas, but otherwise you're fine to skip it - I enjoyed s4, but s6 not so much

I don't fancy skipping it. I one of those people that have to watch everything in order. Do you reckon they will be on Netflix eventually?

What am I missing with this show? Admittedly I've only watched 2 eps from season 1 but I think it's fairly poor all round.

Acting, dialogue, characters, camera all sub par. It just looks cheap and shoddy. Am I wrong?!

No :). But for some reason I really enjoyed it....

It's one of the best shows I have watched. I really enjoyed it. Tbh I didn't think I would, but I gave it time. :D

I presume it is similar to underbelly?

CBS Action are starting to repeat Underbelly at the start of next month.

I think they usually go through all 5 seasons.

    Monday 2nd February 2015 at 03:00 am - Series 1, Episode 1

Sorry for dragging this thread out of nowhere.

Only decided to give this series a go and binged season 1 and 2... Thought they were excellent. Season 3 is good but I didn't like it as much. Should I watch 4,5 and 6 or are they shieeet?

Also watched a bit of fat tony and co...not sure if I'll bother continuing with that either?

Also any other shows like this apart from love/hate, breaking bad, narcos, soprano's etc? Something off the radar?

Might give "The Straits" a go. Has anyone watched it?

Lost interest after season 3 myself too... would be interested to see the general consensus on whether its worth going back for the rest.

For an alternative, if you are willing to go subtitled route, try Gomorra. It's set in Naples, organised crime family, drug dealing, turf wars, etc. All the violence and double crossing you could want. Really atmospheric soundtrack too. 2 seasons, I'm watching the second at the moment - its absolutely superb. It's just been on Sky Atlantic, so will probably be on Sky box sets

Season 5 is pretty good but im not sure 4 or 6 are worth bothering about tbh. Both were set in the 30s and are too far back for people to give a hoot about the characters. Ill certainly give Gomorra a try. Fat Tony is pretty good.

Narcos on Netflix though is epic. Season 2 should be coming next month. Cant wait

Fat Tony for anyone asking is a spin off of the first series and it is based on this guy Tony Mokbel who was a wanted man by both the Federal Australian Police and the Victorian Police which led to a man hunt half way across the world.

Mokbel features in Season 1 but his case was ongoing at the time so he couldnt feature as prominently
