God in Fringe

This has been bothering me all S4 of Fringe, and really struck me after watching "Nothing As It Seems": the writers of Fringe seem intent on shoe-horning in references to God into Fringe. I get that Walter is supposedly a character with a belief in God, but I've noticed that a reference to God will crop up in almost every episode. Don't get me wrong, it's not like would object to a character (ie Walter) being spiritual - IIRC there was an excellent episode in season 1 or 2 which dealt with Walter's faith - but it's hard not to feel that the frequent comments are, well, jarring. I don't recall the initial 2 seasons having the same problem, but it's almost if the writers are throwing bones out to the American audience - an effort to avoid cancellation.

    Anyone else notice this?

I noticed this and it really began to annoy me, season four was far heavier with the god references. Maybe not every episode but its there alright.
