Honeymoon in Gran Canaria

    Hi
Just wondering has any one been to Gran Canaria on Honeymoon? Would you recommend it if you have? We are looking to go somewhere in Europe or not too far away and our travel agent recommended some lovely 5 star hotels in Gran Canaria for very decent prices eg 1500 for both for 7 nights. Is there much to do in Gran Canaria like day trips, waterparks etc?
Neither of us are big into lying around the pool all day so would like the option to do something if we feel like it. Any help would be appreciated :)

Haven't been on honeymoon there but went on hols there last year and are going back this year.

We did self catering in a bungalow in a very safe gated community, going back to same place. It had its own two pools which were relatively quiet as the community is people's homes, not a tourist complex. It's costing us €800 for 13 nights and is in no way shabby. It would kill me to pay €1500 for 7 nights!

The beach is very nearby as is the Jumbo centre and everything else in Playa del Ingles.
    Beach does most activities-jetskis etc.
It does have a waterpark but you would need to get a bus to it.
There is a beautiful town called Mogan where you can visit the wonderful market they hold on a Friday and do parasailing, submarine trips etc.

If you would like the details of the bungalow, let me know.
The owners are fantastic, they did our transfers for free and had fridge stocked and everything. The also run a B&B but we preferred to have the bungalow to ourselves.

Hi, I went here last year just for a holiday. Stayed in the Gloria Palace hotel all inclusive, food is lovely, drink was fine. There is a huge market in Mogan, other than that not a lot to see. Try searching on trip advisor for things to see and do in Gran Canaria.

I like the lying by the pool part, so i am going back to the same hotel this year to do just that... :D
