We are always very quick to highlight any bad service we get from music shops, but not always as quick to highlight good service. I ordered a new guitar strap from xmusic yesterday online. Got a phone call this morning before 10am from the courier looking for directions to my house! Can't ask for better service than that!:)

That's nothing to do with the store I'm afraid, that's more the service from Fastway Couriers, since the driver couldn't find your house...

I think you missed my point. I ordered yesterday afternoon, and the order was processed and shipped yesterday, ready for delivery to me in Galway this morning. I live out in the country so nobody could find my hose without directions. And who said anything about Fastway couriers?

If you live in Dublin, it would also be reasonable to expect fast delivery!

Edit: you live in Galway so disregard the above.

Fair enough. Credit where it is due. Perhaps "X Music" are finally getting the message and getting their act together. :)

Attempting to come here and praise good service is a somewhat foolhardy thing to do! Check out the poor unfortunate who praised Thomann and was flamed to bits. They don't like that class of thing around here...
    It's a boards.ie thing !!

Seems to be alright. Thought I'd try to redress the balance:)

Wll have to say I had a good recent experience too.

Brought my cousin to buy a piano. They did not have the one I was aiming for her to get. One call to Liam the piano was made available for her to test. She bought it there and then and is delighted with the service. Even managed to very very close to online prices that made not having to wait worth the extra €.

I've had issues with them in the past but this experience was good.

I honestly can't think of a single instance regarding a music retailer.

I could wax lyrical about my positive experiences with a local musical instrument retailer, but it might cause too much positivity in the Instruments forum:D

In Dublin? I would appreciate a recommendation. Had nothing but bad experiences since moving here.

He might mean "Guitar Centre" on Exchequer St. In my experience it is one of the few music shops in Dublin, where you actually feel welcome when you walk in.
