Is it normal to have your application completely ignored? MOD WARNING POST #12

Began my application (Galway) in August. The was followed by several very vague and unhelpful requests for documents/information from them, the last of which was for some document or another which I submitted in February before the deadline. Since then I have heard absolutely nothing.

Is it normal for them to be so massively incompetent and unprofessional?

You could always send in the required documents when you first submit ?

Is it normal for you to be so massively incompetent and unprofessional?

See what i did there ?

Yes, you thought you were making a clever comparison but failed to realise that in my capacity as a non-professional, professional standard admin work is not my duty.

Being clever isn't for everyone though, don't lose any sleep over it.

Haha, for somebody who seems to think they're clever you kind of failed with the whole grant application thing.

You seem to think that submitting the required documents when you first apply is optional and that complaining about the county council staff not responding to your every beck and call on this forum is a good idea. You made the mistake, not them. There are hundreds if not thousands of applications to process and if you don't give them what they need you get pushed back to the end of the stack. I don't understand how you can call them incompetent and unprofessional and think that that's acceptable.

In my previous post I was merely pointing out that they were not really to blame but i guess that went over your head.

I get that you want to vent but really, you're pointing the finger in the wrong direction.

Help with what exactly? I answered your idiotic question but incase you missed it I'll reiterate and dumb it down.
Is it normal for them to be so massively incompetent and unprofessional?
They're not incompetent and unprofessional, they're busy.

Replying to every person who sends in documents late would delay application processing further.

Im starting to notice a trend here. You tend to resort to insults when you don't get what you want.

With regards to your thread title, they sent you requests for documents... that kinda means they're not ignoring you.

You seem to be struggling with the problem here. As I stated in my OP, I have submitted all required documents, and have not heard back over a month later. I am asking if this is normal. You seem to lose the plot a little when attempting larger posts, so for the sake of clarity please just limit your answer to yes or no. Thanks.

I doubt its incompetence or a lack of professional ability. Most likely they are busy processing applications and will contact you when they have processed yours, obviously they have attempted to process your application several times hence the need to send you several requests for documents you hadn't submitted with your application.

    Sorry, what?

If your initial post had been this
I have submitted all required documents, and have not heard back over a month later. I am asking if this is normal.

I would have responded with a yes because thats a respectable way to ask your simple question.

Instead you decided to go off on one and attack county council staff by saying this
    .....
Is it normal for them to be so massively incompetent and unprofessional?

Thats a bit of a hostile way to ask your intended question is it not?

Also, your thread title which reads "Is it normal to have your application completely ignored?" had been contradicted by the second sentence of your so eloquent OP.

If you want yes or no answers don't ask sensational troll questions

    I agree with Alph

You only question was 'Is it normal for them to be so massively incompetent and unprofessional?'

You don't say how they were ignoring you, you actually say they contacted you several times with requests for documents since August. You don't even say what they did that was incompetent or unprofessional?

I suppose the only answer is No it is not normal for them to be incompetent or unprofessional, they are not being incompetent or unprofessional with your application either because they have been dealing with your incomplete application.

You will just have to wait your turn while they assess the thousands of applications that have been correctly submitted.

I see, cheers. The reason that my application took a few attempts was more due to the fact there are a few complications with my situation, some of the docs I had to submit were not on the original list and the grants body were extremely vague with their requests (few times I submitted what they asked for only to have them change their mind).

Not that I really have to justify myself to some rocket on the internet desperately looking for a reaction.

Any more inflammatory posts in this thread will lead to bans. I am currently reviewing all posts and may issue warnings/infractions where necessary. Please refrain from posting any more abuse.

Edit: Right, I've issued two warnings but there are other posts worthy of same. If any of the posters involved reply in such a manner on-thread again, bans will be issued. If anyone wishes to argue with any decisions, send me a PM, do NOT take it up with me on-thread.
