I got a Galaxy Y 4 weeks ago, I had a hard time getting it to connect to either of my computers but did eventually by enabling and disabling USB debugging, then after a week or so it wouldn't charge, the icon would move as if charging but once plugged out it would die out, it also wouldn't connect to either computer, i brought it back to the shop and I collected it on wednesday this week, it took 24 hours to charge and I can't get it to connect to the computer, when i collected it they said it was a software issue, even after plugging it back in last night and unplugging it a few hours ago it's down to about 1/3 of battery left with nothing running on it....
I'm thinking I need to go back to the shop with it again but thought I'd ask here first to see if there is anything i can do..

did you try different usb cable?
    different usb port?

when connecting to the PC and sort of noise - telling the hardware being recognized?

I had to bring mine back again they more or less replaced the guts of the phone and it's worked fine since then, I did have problems with a cable a few weeks ago where it wouldn't pick it up again but it was the cable
