    Hi All,

Going Unreg for this as if i post under my actual username id hate the urine taken out of me by my friends.

Basically im 25 and my hairline has started to receed at a rapid pace, moreso that alot of people are starting to notice it now. Worst of all my hair is very fine so it looks worse than it is.

Basically im reaching out for any treatments that people have tried, or advice that anyone can give to restore my hairline if possible or make it look thicker.

    Cheers!

I used Rogaine for a while, not sure if it did anything or not, but eventually got tired of using it and just shaved my head. Kept it that for the last ten years or so (since about 28)

I'm 27, receding for years. I have a 1 blade all over and it looks grand but it'll soon need a zero and then it'll be shaving time. You're only delaying the inevitable and I simply don't believe and of the treatments are worth the money. Just get down the barbers and get it cut tight!

I also now shave my head.
Used to do a blade 1 for a fair bit but one day the razor started pulling instead of cutting so my wife's Venus razor came out.

It really was a liberating experience - just cold very cold. Find I am wearing more hats, now moisturise my head and even have to use suncream on my ears when I am out and about now.

Despite all that I have never looked back - quite a difference to a few years ago where I was called Jesus due to my long hair - but of all the styles I have had I much prefer the short/shaved look - really does make life so much easier. Also since I am so happy with it - friends have picked up on it and have complimented me on being so happy for a change (family though are another matter....).

Who was that mytholgical (historical) Irish dude that fought the waves... Come on - embrace it - when you find that happy place it really will be picked up by others.

id shave your head if i were you, men look very attractive with shaved heads. Failing that a hair transplant is possible but they cost around 10k. As its so socially the norm for mens hair to thin, i would really try and not worry too much. easier said than done i know. But really its not half as bad to look at as you think. Your just conscience of it and i know its hard.

Thinking of getting the hair transplant myself, is it really worth the 10k though, I wonder..

No, because you'll still go bald. Madness in my eyes. A razor costs €20.

My OH shaves his head. V sexy! Much sexier then trying to cling onto hair that you are loosing anyway.

My hair started to thin on top several years ago. It wasn't happening particularly fast but I could sort of notice it but tried to pretend it wasn't happening, but if I was caught outside in the rain, there was no hiding it.

I basically geared myself up one morning and headed into the barbers first thing and told them to set the blade to number 2 and shave it all off. The very first time it was a liberating feeling, like I was casting off an old shell and starting anew.

Since then I went and bought a set of Remington Precision hair clippers and I just cut my hair myself now. Those clippers I bought are great and I've had them several years and haven't even had to oil them or sharpen the blades or anything, they work as good as they did the first time I used them. I usually just shave my head with them every 2 weeks or so now.

I much prefer this look and I intend to keep it this way. I've considered Regaine or Rogaine or whatever it's called but unless it allowed me to have a full thick head of hair, I'd probably not bother.
