Which site would you recommend to use in selling various items?
At the moment im deciding between Ebay, adverts and donedeal

Depends what kind of stuff you want to sell.

    As regards to charges,
Adverts is free to advertise, only real charges will be paypal fees if you choose to use paypal.

Ebay, you will have ebay listing fees (apart from free listing weekends, actually as i type I have received an email saying easter weekend is free to list), a fee when it sells and paypal fees.

    Donedeal charges are
    Only €3 including 10 photos & video
    Listed for 2 months
Pay by phone bill, or credit/debit card
courtesy of the front page of their website.

Id try adverts first then move on to the others if your items dont sell

If selling PC parts, and are based in Ireland, try adverts.

    ADVERTS!
No fees, no automated 'customer care', best by far. Try and avoid Fee-Bay and Dodgy Deal if you can..:D

    definatly ebay!!

its the only one that is straight forward, somebody wants to buy somethig they click a button and the money is in your account,

with adverts and done deal you get a lot of time wasters,

on adverts most people will ask you to lower your price by half or even more and its impossible to make a sale on it

so use ebay if you want the money in your account with no time wasters!!

But with ebay you have to pay a listing fee if you start your auctions at a price above 1.49, then you pay a final value fee, then paypal takes their percentage, then if you dont send the item via registered post any tom dick or harry can open an item not recieved dispute, and on top of that if someone rips you off you cant leave them negative feedback..
Trust me, I have been selling on ebay for over 10 years and its gone down the pan so much so that I only buy there now, gave it up a year ago for adverts and it was the best thing i ever did..

Adverts limits you to Irish buyers. Ebay doesn't. And from my experience, e-bay reaches way, way more people than adverts/donedeal does anyway

For stuff that people might want to collect maybe adverts is better. But 80% of books/CDs/DVDs I've sold have been to the UK
