Thinking of growing a moustache?

would it be wrong for me to grow a Charlie Chaplin style moustache?
Beards don't suit me but I know I could pull it a 'tache off.
They were very fashionable for decades in the early nineteenth century. Do you think people would confuse it for, say a James Joyce?
I'd hate people to confuse me as a Joyce fan or something I amn't.

I'd love to, but the missus won't let me (she does have a point, i do look utterly ridiculous with one!)

A Chaplin is one step away from a Hitler. Don't do it man.

Or if you do, go for the whole handlebar.

I had a Charlie Chaplin style after a charity shave last year. The amount of disapproving looks I got didn't make it worth it.
The girlfriend's brother was home at the time (he lives in Germany), and his response when he saw it was 'Is that supposed to be funny?'

I wouldn't go for it if I were you.

Everyone wants one, but no one has the balls to grow one.
